LIVERPOOL & DISTRICT BADMINTON LEAGUE
N E W S L E T T E R - JULY 2007
TO: CLUB SECRETARIES AND ALL CLUB MEMBERS
Please ensure that all your members have sight of this Newsletter so that they know what is happening with the League and important dates they should place in their diaries.
LEAGUE DIVISIONS: After much discussion, and bearing in mind the comments which were expressed at the Annual General Meeting, the following was decided.
Each Division will be composed of six teams – each team will play each other three times. As mentioned above, this decision was taken in response to discussions at the Annual General Meeting, when it was decided that the Committee should look at the number of teams who applied for the 2007/08 season and a vote taken on the League Division structure. The successful vote was for six teams in three divisions. Delco and Girobank were promoted as per the rules. Further restructuring may take place for the 2008/09 season.
RALLY POINTS TRAINING DAY: This will take place on Sunday, 2nd September, at Holly Lodge School, Mill Lane Entrance, at 1.00pm-4.00 pm. We have arranged for referees to attend to carry out the training. Each team should bring along a tube of shuttles and the League will cover the cost of the court hire, etc. Having made these arrangements we sincerely hope that ALL clubs will be represented.. The Training Day has been arranged at your request.
BADMINTON ENGLAND AFFILIATION AND LANCS. COUNTY AFFILIATIONS: You should, by now, have the BE Affiliation information in your possession. BE and County Affiliations should be completed by the end of October. The cost is £8.90 BE and £2.50 Lancashire County. Both should be sent to Badminton England. Points to bear in mind are that ALL members must be affiliated to both, whether or not they are registered as team members. Where a player has affiliated via another League, this must be shown on your form, and the County fee must still be paid for each club they are a member of. It is worth thinking about the fact that if an unregistered player is involved in an incident that the Officials of the club (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer) could be liable for any action taken by the other person/s involved.
Where a member club of the League does not complete their affiliations by the end of October could result in the League itself being suspended. and matches played being awarded to the opposing team. Please attend to this as soon as possible.
